About CIIM
During the first Convention of Italian Entrepreneurs Worldwide
held in Rome in October 2003 and hosted by the Minister of Italians
Living Abroad, an idea emerged that Italian business communities
abroad can provide an extraordinary opportunity and competitive
advantage for Italy.
In June 2004, CIIM
(Confederazione degli Imprenditori Italiani nel Mondo - Confederation
of Italian Entrepreneurs Worldwide) was established with the intent
to develop a global business network, linking Italian business communities
abroad with businesses operating in Italy. CIIM's goal is to enable
its members to work cooperatively in foreign markets, to promote
innovation and give them the opportunity to exchange experiences,
ideas, contacts.
Participating members hold high ranking positions in today's global
business community, and they are either Italian or of Italian origin,
and reside, or have, a business abroad.
CIIM's headquarters
are in Rome, but its chapters around the world are strategically
run as independent entities and are financed by local members.
CIIM North America
is a coordinating committee, which facilitates collaboration and
coordination between the activities of CIIM
USA and CIIM Canada
and their respective local chapters.
CIIM Canada began
its operations in 2007 with two successful conferences: the first
in March, dedicated to the Italian SME, followed by a second in
